A 1965 Ford Falcon Futura with a 302 V8 Mustang Engine, Edelbrock Intake with a 4 Barrel Holley Carburetor.

The Engine is all stock to the best of the seller’s knowledge. It has a C-4 Automatic Transmission with a B&M Ratchet style shifter kit. Shifter lever and knob Rat Rod style. Front end was modified with disc brakes, not power brakes, but with a dual reservoir, not the stock single reservoir. The original front steering leakage was used and adapted to the disc brakes spindles. It does not have power steering.

Lifted the front end with heavy duty springs to give it that gasser look. Lifted with heavy duty springs in front and the modifications to the rear. Rear end is strong and is not stock but out of a 67 Ford Fairlane V8 351. Had to be modified to fit. The hood is the original, but added the Tear Drop/Thunder Bolt scoop.

The body on the 1965 Ford Falcon is all nice and straight per the seller with no rust except for a few bubble spots back by the rear wheel on the passenger side. Some minor scratches of the paint in areas. Trunk is solid with no rot or holes, some minor surface rust. The floor boards are all solid with no holes. The under carriage and frame are all clean and under coated. The 5.0/302 V8 engine is strong. It does have some oil leaks in front by the water pump and does puff out smoke once you start it after a long run or sitting awhile.

The C-4 Transmission shifts smooth and is strong. No problem lighting up the tires. 14 inch Tires with Chrome Wheels. No front bumper but a 2 inch pipe, which I think looks pretty mean. Duel exhaust with cherry bomb mufflers. Green neons are installed but don’t work, need a new transformer.

The interior is not complete and needs a head liner and rear window deck. It has bucket seats and new carpeting. Original Instrument cluster, Speedometer works but jumpy. The odometer reads 86352. Added the 3 Gauge Cluster, Oil Temp, and Volts. AM/FM CD Player.

Good 1965 Ford Falcon project!

1965 Chevrolet Malibu LS1 6 Speed!

1965 Chevrolet Malibu LS1

1965 Chevrolet Malibu LS1

Project cars for sale has tripped across a cool little pro touring start today. What we have here is a 1965 Chevrolet Malibu with a late model LS1 engine and a T56 six speed transmission! It is a rare find in today’s marketplace to find a mid stream project car with the LS1 swap already completed. Most of the cars that have had a swap like this completed are just that, completed. They typically are completely done to the nines and therefore unaffordable to the average gearhead. That’s what makes this car cool.

For a touch over $20k you get a solid project car that just needs some minor details. This 1965 Chevrolet Malibu LS1 has the previously mentioned LS1 engine swap mated to a T56 6 speed transmission. According to the seller this combination only has 11 miles on it!

The car has a decent black paint job with a stock red interior. Someone has added a cool notch to the bench seat to clear the manual shifter. I am not sure that this type of thing was commonplace in musclecars until the later 60’s. Rounding out the more or less stock interior are a host of Autometer gauges that seem to blend in to the dash and give a nice modern touch.

The only gripe that I had about this car as I was browsing the listing is the rear cove treatment. On the Super Sport Malibus of 1965 the rear cove was blacked out, or in the case of black cars, silvered out. This car has received a “red out” to tie with the red interior. If I were to purchase this car, I think I would get rid of that ASAP and get some 3″ drop springs in the undercarriage as well. Then I’d drive the heck out of it with a smile on my face!

This 1965 Malibu SS appears to be a nice start for a cool little pro touring car with a modern drivetrain. It would make a great project car and would be an awesome weekend cruiser! Don’t miss out on this one! Check out the full listing =&0=&
