1965 Chevrolet Malibu LS1 6 Speed!

1965 Chevrolet Malibu LS1

1965 Chevrolet Malibu LS1

Project cars for sale has tripped across a cool little pro touring start today. What we have here is a 1965 Chevrolet Malibu with a late model LS1 engine and a T56 six speed transmission! It is a rare find in today’s marketplace to find a mid stream project car with the LS1 swap already completed. Most of the cars that have had a swap like this completed are just that, completed. They typically are completely done to the nines and therefore unaffordable to the average gearhead. That’s what makes this car cool.

For a touch over $20k you get a solid project car that just needs some minor details. This 1965 Chevrolet Malibu LS1 has the previously mentioned LS1 engine swap mated to a T56 6 speed transmission. According to the seller this combination only has 11 miles on it!

The car has a decent black paint job with a stock red interior. Someone has added a cool notch to the bench seat to clear the manual shifter. I am not sure that this type of thing was commonplace in musclecars until the later 60’s. Rounding out the more or less stock interior are a host of Autometer gauges that seem to blend in to the dash and give a nice modern touch.

The only gripe that I had about this car as I was browsing the listing is the rear cove treatment. On the Super Sport Malibus of 1965 the rear cove was blacked out, or in the case of black cars, silvered out. This car has received a “red out” to tie with the red interior. If I were to purchase this car, I think I would get rid of that ASAP and get some 3″ drop springs in the undercarriage as well. Then I’d drive the heck out of it with a smile on my face!

This 1965 Malibu SS appears to be a nice start for a cool little pro touring car with a modern drivetrain. It would make a great project car and would be an awesome weekend cruiser! Don’t miss out on this one! Check out the full listing =&0=&

1969 Chevrolet Camaro Rally Sport Convertible

Up for grabs today is a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Rally Sport Convertible. This car is a cool little project car, especially because it has a nice little paper trail that comes with it. The original purchase order and protecto plate are included! Per the seller this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro was bought new in the city of Miamiasburg Ohio from Fink Jeske Chevrolet on May 26, 1969 and has been owned by the same family since it was new!

It is rare to find a 44 year old classic car that has not been messed with much, let alone a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. The car still has its factory burgundy paint job and from the pictures it appears to still have the dealer sticker on the rear bumper. The car even still has the factory wheels and small hub caps. Under the hood is a 350 cubic inch small block Chevrolet engine with a 2 barrel carburetor. The engine is mated to a four speed transmission and a 10 bolt rear end. Other options include front and rear bumper guards, power steering and power disk brakes.

This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro appears to be a survivor car that has not really been messed with and has spent its life owned by the same family. It would make a great project car and would be an awesome weekend cruiser to drop the top and enjoy the sunshine! Don’t miss out on a very rare opportunity! Check out the full listing =&0=&

1965 Chevrolet Malibu Super Sport

For this mornings feature Project Cars For Sale has found a nice 1965 Chevrolet Malibu Super Sport project car to share. From the exterior this 1965 Chevrolet Malibu SS appears relatively stock with exception of the cowl hood and aftermarket wheels. However, it has quite a host of goodies within the Butternut yellow package. Under the hood lies a 355 cubic inch small block Chevrolet with a roller cam breathing through 2 ½ inch exhaust with Flowmaster 3 chamber mufflers. This car surely rumbles idling down the block and roars to life as you put your foot to the floor and row through the gears! Oh did I just mention rowing through the gears? Yes, that’s right, inside you will find a Hurst Pro-Billet shifter controlling a Tremec 3550 5 speed manual transmission handling the shifting duties! Steering is upgraded through the use of a CPP quick ratio power steering box controls and the car also was built using certain Hotchkis components. The Malibu can come to a screeching halt with the help of a Wilwood front disk brake conversion and a hydroboost setup. What makes this 1965 Chevrolet Malibu even more of a gem, is that the seller reports that the car is an original 300hp 327 cubic inch Super Sport car and that the original engine is included with the sale! Also, the original flat hood painted the same butternut yellow is included as well. It appears to be a nice, clean, driver as is and would not be embarrassment to pound the pavement in. What you have is a desirable car with some rare options where most of the hardest part of the restoration is already complete! With some minor clean up and personalization, it appears this 1965 Malibu Super Sport could be even more of a head turner than it already is! Check out the full car listing =&0=&
